Equityway, a prominent real estate development firm, has finalized the acquisition of a building from Handsale Care in Bradford as part of a £3 million refurbishment endeavour. The ambitious project, set to convert the facility into a mental health step-down facility with 23 beds, represents a significant investment in addressing the mental health needs of the community.
The refurbishment program, spearheaded by Equityway’s subsidiary BDP Construction, will breathe new life into the building, transforming it into a modern and purpose-built facility tailored to meet the specific requirements of individuals transitioning from acute mental health care settings to more community-based support. With a focus on comfort, accessibility, and therapeutic design, the facility aims to provide a nurturing environment conducive to recovery and rehabilitation.
“We are delighted to announce this acquisition and our commitment to delivering much-needed mental health support services in Bradford,” stated Equityways Managing Director Steven Donlon. “This project underscores our dedication to investing in initiatives that not only enhance the built environment but also contribute to the wellbeing and resilience of the communities we serve.”
The mental health step-down facility will offer a range of services aimed at supporting individuals in their journey towards independent living and improved mental health outcomes. From personalized care plans to access to community resources and support networks, the facility will provide a holistic approach to recovery, empowering individuals to reintegrate into society with confidence and stability.
“The refurbishment of this building marks a significant milestone in our efforts to expand mental health support services in Bradford,” expressed Mr Donlon. “We are excited to partner with the Local Authorities in Bradford to create a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can receive the care and assistance they need to thrive.”
With construction set to commence in April, anticipation is building within the community as stakeholders look forward to the completion of the mental health step-down facility. The project is poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals grappling with mental health challenges, offering hope, healing, and a pathway to recovery.
As Equityway embarks on this transformative refurbishment journey, the project serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and social responsibility in addressing pressing societal needs. By repurposing existing infrastructure to meet the demands of mental health care, Equityway Holdings are paving the way for a more resilient and inclusive community in Bradford.
